Curriculum Framework

Nashville’s curriculum framework is based on a school curriculum that is engaging and relevant which provides opportunities for educational success for all students.

Our curriculum framework is based on:
  • An Integrated approach to Key Learning Areas
  • A team approach to planning and implementation of units
  • ICT integrated into all units of work

Each Integrated Unit focuses on providing activities which will contribute to developing the Life-Long Learning Attributes:

  • Knowledgeable person with deep understanding
  • Complex thinker
  • Responsive creator
  • Effective communicator
  • Participant in an interdependent world
  • Reflective and self-directed learner

To discover the Units of work in each class select the Classrooms in the Spotlight and then choose the year level below.

Staff Development Priorities

To keep pace with the latest developments and research in education staff are engaged in professional development on a regular basis. We are currently focussing on:

  • New Maths Syllabus
  • Literacy Block
  • THRASS (Teaching Handwriting, Reading and Spelling Skills)
  • Protective Behaviours
  • IT Skill Development
  • Safe Schools Framework

2009 is the year of our Triennial Review. This review will help prepare our Strategic Plan for the next three years. The school community including parents, students and staff are actively engaged to participate in this review to provide valuable feedback to support the development of our Strategic Plan.
